Steven Follett
Steven Follett has specialized in commercial real estate practice for over three decades. The bulk of that time was spent as a partner with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin, one of Canada's largest national law firms. The experience he gained and talent he developed working for national institutions and corporations are now used for the benefit of his corporate and real estate clients located throughout Ontario and British Columbia and others in Canada and the United States who have properties and businesses in those provinces.
Steven Follett's practice includes:
A broad range and depth of commercial real property acquisitions, sales and financings as well as commercial property leasing;
Experience working with both large and small hotel companies regarding acquisitions and related leases;
Retained on a number of occasions by one of Canada's largest title insurance companies to rectify defective property titles;
Acting for a number of corporate borrowers in negotiating and implementing loans (both construction and conventional) and security on industrial, commercial, retail and multi-residential properties which involves due diligence including title and lease reviews and appropriate referrals for zoning, planning and development matters;
Providing services in corporate commercial law with small and medium sized businesses who do not have in-house counsel and require contract review engagements and corporate organization tasks;
Negotiating partnership and shareholder agreements for small and medium sized entrepreneurial businesses, including an Internet start-up company that was acquired by a large multi-national corporation;
Assisting companies with corporate transactions including those requiring specific commercial real estate expertise.
Steven Follett maintains a vibrant Ontario practice while residing in West Vancouver, British Columbia and travels between both jurisdictions as client demands dictate.
